BALER, Aurora-A top military official of the 91st Infantry “Sinagtala” Battalion, Philippine Army in this province said that former rebels (FRs) in Barangay Antipolo in Bongabon, Nueva Ecija will soon have a shelter while processing documents to avail of benefits under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) and while they are being prepared for reintegration to society.
Lt. Col. Reandrew P. Rubio, commander of 91st IB cited the recent concluded meeting with Mayor Allan Xystus A Gamilla and Engineer Jerome M. Yabot, NHA region 3, on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at the Municipal Hall of Bongabon in the province of Nueva Ecija regarding the National Housing Authority (NHA) housing assistance to FRs and deed of donation of lot from the local government unit (LGU) of Bongabon.
Afterwhich, said NHA, 91IB, and Municipal Engineering Office conducted site inspection at Barangay Antipolo, Bongabon where the housing project will be established and talked with the FRs at Brgy Tugatog, Bongabon for application of housing assistance and other related matters.
“The Php14,400,000 housing project to 32 FRs will soon be rise benefiting 2 units in each beneficiary with a total amount of Php450,000,” Ltc Rubio said.
He also expressed gratitude to the help of the government, LGU Bongabon, NHA and other stakeholders in the implementation of the housing assistant project.
Ltc Rubio added that the E-CLIP can help former rebels to encourage those who have remained in the revolutionary work to also avail of the services that the government has offered.
The battalion commander also said that to achieve a lasting peace, the government is continually delivering much needed services to the communities like the Convergence Program for Poverty Reduction that targets the remotest villages.
Through the convergence program, the LGU gather resources and interventions from partner government agencies, civil society organizations and others for a location-specific and comprehensive poverty reduction program.
In the program’s pilot site in Barangay Antipolo, the government will construct an 80 square meters single detach each that will cater the 32 FRs.
“The land was donated by LGU Bongabon through the initiative of Mayor Gamilla to give our FRs a chance to enjoy and improve their lives together with family in their new residence,” Ltc Rubio said.
