Troops of the Joint Task Force Central conducted surgical operation against the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters under Bungos Faction in Shariff Saydona Mustapha (SSM), Maguindanao yesterday.
This was followed by a combat clearing operation conducted by the combined troops of the 33rd Infantry Battalion and 12th Special Forces Company, 5th Special Forces Battalion that resulted in the recovery of three enemy cadavers in Barangay Pusao, Shariff Saydona Mustapha, Maguindanao at 1pm today, November 26, 2019.
Troops further recovered one 5.56 mm K2 assault rifle and one Caliber 45 pistol.
After clearing and securing the area, operating troops coordinated with the barangay officials of Pusao led by Kagawad Abo Kalim to identify the recovered bodies and subsequently facilitate the proper burial of the slain BIFF fighters.
Earlier, troops of the 57th Infantry Battalion conducted combat clearing operation in Barangay Pamalian, Shariff Saydona that led to the recovery of 3 M16 rifles, 3 Improvised Explosive Devices, and 6 improvised hand grenades.
Troops continue to scour the area.
“These recoveries connote operational success while our troops on the ground build up their focused military operations to hunt and pound the remaining terrorists in Central Mindanao,” said Lt. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana, commander of the Western Mindanao Command.
“Rest assured that Western Mindanao Command remains committed to provide a safe and secured environment to all communities under our area of operation,” Lt. Gen. Sobejana added.
