From ABS-CBN (Sep 29): White House confirms Trump visit to PH in November
United States President Donald Trump will travel to the Philippines in November as part of his five-nation swing in Asia.
The White House said Friday that Trump is set to undertake a 12-day trip from Nov. 3 to 14, with stops in Japan, South Korea, China, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
The US leader is expected to take part in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit in the Philippines, where top officials from the bloc's partner nations are set to attend.
He is set to tackle trade issues and the North Korean nuclear threat during his Asian trip, the White House said Friday.
"The president's engagements will strengthen the international resolve to confront the North Korean threat and ensure the complete, verifiable, and irreversible denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula," it said in a statement.
It would be Trump's first trip to the Philippines as US President.
