Troopers from Joint Task Group Sulu have recovered several
items believed to be owned by an Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) bandit during patrol
operations in Patikul town Monday afternoon.
Recovered were an ICOM radio, three antennas, a charger, a
complete battle dress uniform, a pair of combat boots, two hammocks, a
laminated sack, and unmarked motorcycle.
Joint Task Group Sulu commander Brig. Gen. Alan Arrojado, in
a message to the PNA, said troops from the 35th Infantry Battalion were
patrolling in Bud Uwak, Barangay Bangkal when they discovered these items,
reportedly owned and abandoned by ASG member Apal Hassan, around 4:20 p.m.
He added the bandit was brought by his relatives to a still
undisclosed hospital after suffering from some kind of illness.
Arrojado said troops are still scouring the area for signs
of Hassan.
