Sr. Insp. Gean Gallardo, Lamity City
police chief, said the incident occurred around 7:20 p.m. along Quezon Boulevard in
Barangay Matatag, this city.
Gallardo said no one was hurt but the windshield of a
firetruck was partially damaged.
The fire truck belongs to the “Malunggay Fire Volunteer
Brigade” that is maintained and supported by the private sector in this city.
Vice Mayor Roderick Furigay told the Philippines News Agency
that the police, in coordination with the military, are conducting a thorough
investigation to establish the identity of the suspects.
Personnel of the Army’s 39th Explosive Ordnance Demolition
(EOD) is sifting the blast site of debris as part of the investigation
procedures.
