ALIAGA, Nueva Ecija – Three suspected members of the New People’s Army rebel group surrendered to government forces here on Tuesday.Lt. Col. Alexander C. Aurelio, commander of the 1st provincial mobile force company, identified the three rebel surrenderees as Ka Tamang, 63, Ka Ito, 55, and Ka Boyok, 51, all of Bgy. Sta. Lucia Young, Zaragosa, Nueva Ecija.
The ex-rebels sought to avail of the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP), saying they got tired of their group’s lies and deceptions and that they wanted to change and live normal lives, said Aurelio.
The three surrenderees were described as members of Militiang Bayan of Komiteng Larangang Gerilya (KLG-Sierra Madre) and they yielded to the police and military in Bgy. San Eustacio at 1 p.m. here.
Aurelio said their return to the government fold was an offshoot of an intelligence operation facilitated by joint elements of the 1ST PMFC, the RIU3, 303rd MC, the RMFB3, PIU-NEPPO and ACOY 84th IB, Philippine Army.
