Baler, Aurora – The Province of Aurora is situated in the northern portion of Central Luzon connecting Isabela and Quirino Provinces which was placed under the General Community Quarantine (GCQ) effective May 01, 2020.
In order to ensure the continuity of logistical support to the local residents, the 91st Infantry (Sinagtala) Battalion, 7ID, PA led by SSg Reynaldo H Manuben (Inf) PA provided manpower assistance by repacking of relief goods at DSWD RO3 Aurora Extension Office Warehouse, Sitio Yanig, Barangay Bacong, San Luis, Aurora together with the employees of DSWD and MSWDO of San Luis, Aurora on 07 May 2020.
Relatedly, another one (1) squad of reservists from 307th Ready Reserve Infantry Bn with SINAGTALA troopers assisted the repacking of relief goods at Centro Baler Gymnasium, Barangay Suklayin, Baler, Aurora on 11 May 2020.
On 12 May 2020, one (1) squad of Bravo Company 91IB led by Sgt Dave B Dacanay (SC) PA, CMO NCO provided manpower assistance in the repacking of food packs at Multi-Purpose Hall, Barangay Zone 2, Dinalungan, Aurora together with BFP, personnel of MSWDO headed by Ms Jelica Marie E Rada, RSW.
A total of 2,700 food packs were repacked during the separate activities and ready for distribution to the local populace in the province.
LTC REANDREW P RUBIO INF (GSC) PA, Acting Commanding Officer of 91IB, 7ID, PA appreciated the efforts of the reservists and the SINAGTALA troopers for being very active not only in the conduct of checkpoint operations and visibility patrols but even in repacking and distribution of relief goods in the area.
“Our reservists are considered as force multipliers and they are very much willing to help any agencies of the government especially during this time of crisis,” RUBIO said.
Likewise, COL ANDREW D COSTELO INF (GSC) PA, Commander 703Bde, 7ID, PA commended the efforts of the SINAGTALA troops and the active participation of the 307th RRIBN for supporting the LGUs and other stakeholders in the repacking of relief goods prior to its distribution.
“We can survive this COVID-19 crisis if we are helping each other coupled with discipline and unity,” he said.
