CAMP SANG-AN, Pulacan, Labangan, ZDS – Soldiers together with the stakeholders celebrated the Army’s 1st Infantry (TABAK) Division’s 83rd Founding Anniversary here, 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2019.
“Serving the Nation with Zeal and Devotion” was this year’s theme with no less than Lt. Gen. Macairog S. Alberto, Commanding General, Philippine Army, graced the occasion as the guest of honor and speaker.
“The many milestones you have contributed to winning the peace and pushing the development agenda in recent years are well known and noted”, said Alberto.
Alberto also congratulated the officers, enlisted personnel, civilian workforces and stakeholders that were given a fitting recognition for demonstrating dedicated and meritorious service during the previous year.
He also urged the Tabak troopers to recommit themselves to excellence and professionalism and contribute to the attainment of the vision of being a world-class Army that is a source of national pride.
Meanwhile, Maj. Gen. Roberto T. Ancan, 1st Infantry Division Commander, congratulated every Tabak trooper, past and present, for the heroism and sacrifices they offered to the unit.
“We are very much delightful that this unit has reached its 83 years of existence providing outstanding service to the Filipino nation”, said Ancan.
“Let us continue to work hard, strengthen our capabilities and uphold our commitment to service,” Ancan added.
Ancan also extended his sincerest thanks to all the stakeholders, for their continued commitment and collaboration, and for sharing ownership with the 1ID in sustaining peace and development in Basilan, Misamis Occidental, Zamboanga Peninsula and Lanao provinces.
The founding anniversary was celebrated with a month-long series of activities such as wreath laying ceremony for the fallen soldiers, fun and ball games, color run, Tabak Got Talent, squad and disaster response operation challenge, barrio fiesta, and the 1st Tabak commander’s cup shoot fest.
The 83rd Founding Anniversary was culminated with a K-pop themed Tabak night or socials held at the camp’s gymnasium.
