From the Philippine Daily Inquirer (May 9): 1 killed, 1 hurt in Basilan house shooting
A man was killed while another one was injured when armed men sprayed a house with bullets in Maluso, Basilan on Monday, the military said.
Colonel Andrew Bacala, commander of the 4th Special Forces Battalion, did not give details and only said the incident took place in Barangay (village) Tubigan in Maluso.
“We found the old man dead. (His grandson) said armed men fired at their house,” Bacala said.
He said the military did not consider this election-related “because the victims’ family was not partisan.”
