The council passed separate resolutions congratulating and
commending cadets Dennis Yuson Jr. of the PNPA Lakandula Class of 2015 and
Brian Villanueva of the PMA Sinaglahi Class of 2015, who both hail from this
city.
Yuson is graduating as valedictorian of his PNPA class while
Villanueva is ranked ninth in the PMA’s 2015 class.
“The entire city is very proud and honored with their
accomplishments,” said Vice Mayor Shirlyn Bañas-Nograles, who authored the
separate resolutions.
The two measures were jointly sponsored by all 14 members of
the 17th Sangguniang Panlungsod or city council.
Yuson was a consistent honor cadet of the PNPA before
emerging as valedictorian of his class, which is set to graduate on March 26.
He initially completed a degree in education at the Notre
Dame of Dadiangas
University here before
joining the PNPA four years ago.
Yuson has elected to join the Philippine National Police’s
elite unit -- Special Action Force -- for his first regular assignment.
Villanueva is a resident of Anas Subdivision in Barangay
Lagao here, where he finished his elementary and high school education.
Meantime, Sarangani Gov. Steve Chiongbian Solon also
commended cadet Caroline Jhoy Ramirez, who ranked fifth in the PMA’s 2015
graduating class.
Nacional, who is the lone female cadet in the top 10, hails
from Barangay Malalag, Maitum town in Sarangani.
Solon said two other PMA cadets from the province are
graduating this year along with Nacional.
They are cadets Raymart Africa of Barangay Lun Padidu in
Malapatan and Mark Gil Sivila of Poblacion in Kiamba.
“We are very proud of you,” the governor said.
