Thirty-seven newly-promoted flag officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) will take their oath of office before President Benigno S. Aquino III at the Rizal Hall in Malacañang on Tuesday.

This will be followed by a courtesy call on AFP chief- of-staff Gen. Emmanuel T. Bautista at the AFP Commissioned Officers' Club in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.

Leading the 37 star-rank officers are the commanders of AFP’s Major Services and the Central Command (CENTCOM).

They are Philippine Army (PA) chief Lt. Gen. Hernando DCA Iriberri, who assumed his post last February; Philippine Air Force (PAF) commander Lt. Gen. Jeffrey F. Delgado and Philippine Navy flag-officer-in-command Vice Admiral Jesus C. Millan who assumed their new posts late in April; and CENTCOM’s Lt. Gen. John S. Bonafos who assumed in December last year.

Newly-appointed members of the joint staff will also take their oath, including the deputy chief-of-staff for training and doctrines Rear Admiral Alexander S Lopez; deputy chief-of-staff for intelligence Major Gen. Virgilio A. Hernandez; deputy chief-of-staff for civil military operations Major Gen. Lysander A. Suerte; deputy chief-of-staff for operations Major Gen. Oscar T. Lactao; deputy chief-of-staff for personnel Rear Admiral Antonio A. Habulan Jr; and deputy chief-of-staff for reservist and retiree affairs Major Gen. Romeo Santiago O. Nebres.

Joining them are the 1st Infantry Division commander Major Gen. Felicito Virgilio M. Trinidad Jr; PA chief-of-staff Major Gen. Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero; AFP chief engineer Major Gen. Silvino A. Alcabasa Jr; Navy inspector general Major Gen. Remigio C. Valdez; AFP Command and General Staff College commandant Major Gen. Emeraldo C. Magnaye.

Other star-rank officers will also join the contingent. Among them are AFP Resource Management Office chief Brig. Gen. Rafael C. Valencia; 2nd Marine Brigade commander Brig. Gen. Martin N. Pinto; assistant deputy chief-of-staff for plans, Commodore Rafael G. Mariano; 801st Infantry Brigade commander Brig. Gen. Wilson M. Leyva; Army Reserve Command head Brig. Gen. Alexis D. Tamondong; Navy internal auditor Commodore Virgilio S. Garcia; 104th Brigade commander Brig. Gen. Carlito Galvez Jr; First Scout Ranger Regiment commander Brig. Gen. Eduardo V. Davalan; Army internal auditor Brig. Gen. Dario M. Quindoza; 502nd Infantry Brigade commander Brig. Gen. Inocencio M. Mayangao; 7th Infantry Division assistant division Commander and concurrent Army bids and awards committee chairman Brig. Gen. Elmer S. Pabale; assistant deputy chief-of-staff for logistics Brig. Gen. Jose P. Tanjuan Jr; Fleet Marine Ready Force commander Commodore Jorge F. Amba; AFP Command Center chief Brig. Gen. Angelito M. De Leon; 903rd Infantry Brigade commander Brig. Gen. Joselito E. Kakilala; 520th Air Base Wing commander Brig. Gen. Domingo B. Palisoc Jr; and Philippine Marine Corps deputy commander Brig. Gen. Jose Johriel M. Cenabre.

Five reserve officers will also take their oath, namely: Brig. Gen. Robert Theodore S. Romero, 5th Technical and Administrative Service (TAS) Brigade commander; Brig. Gen. Adrien R. Quidlat, 3rd TAS Brigade commander; BGen Virgilio R. Garcia, 1st TAS Brigade commander; Brig. Gen. Benjamin I. Espiritu, 7th Marine Brigade (Reserve) commander; and Commodore Enrico Juan P. Talon, Civil Military Affairs Brigade (Reserve) commander.
