From ABS-CBN (Jul 27): Soldier killed, 2 hurt in Sulu blast
A soldier was killed and two others injured when an improvised explosive device accidentally exploded in Barangay Tiptipon, Panglima Estino, Sulu on Saturday.
Initial reports said Explosive Ordnance Division (EOD) team responded to the scene after receiving a call that a bomb was planted in the vicinity of a village chief's home identified as Alawi Jaijali.
The bomb exploded when the team was inspecting it, resulting to the death of a soldier.
The injured soldiers, meanwhile, were immediately airlifted to the nearest hospital.
