From Kalanaw News (Jun 14, 2023): 4-day forum para sa mga FRs isinagawa sa Cagayan; benepisyong matatanggap tinalakay (4-day forum for FRs held in Cagayan; benefits received discussed)

Ang Bayan Daily News & Analysis online propaganda posted to the PRWC Newsroom, the blog site of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) Information Bureau (Jun 13, 2023): Mga magsasaka sa Masbate, binugbog at ninakawan ng mga sundalo (Farmers in Masbate, beaten and robbed by soldiers)

June 13, 2023

Ang Bayan Daily News & Analysis online propaganda posted to the PRWC Newsroom, the blog site of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) Information Bureau (Jun 12, 2023): BHB-Albay, handang tumugon sa sakuna ng pagsabog ng bulkang Mayon (NPA-Albay, ready to respond to the Mayon volcano eruption disaster)

June 12, 2023

Ang Bayan Daily News & Analysis online propaganda posted to the PRWC Newsroom, the blog site of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) Information Bureau (Jun 12, 2023): Araw ng huwad na kalayaan, ginunita ng mga protesta (False independence day, commemorated with protests)

June 12, 2023

ENGLISH TRANSLATION:

Progressive groups headed first to the Chinese consulate, and then to the US embassy today, considered "Independence Day" by the reactionary state. They condemned the interference of the two imperialists in the territory and internal affairs of the country. They said, the Philippines is not truly free because US imperialism continues to undermine it.

In front of the Chinese consulate, they condemned its illegal claim to Philippine sovereign territory in the West Philippine Sea and RCEP. The indigenous people who joined the action asserted their opposition to the Chinese-funded dams Kaliwa, Kanan and Laiban. They said, it affects not only the Sierra Madre mountains, but also the nearby areas in Rizal and Metro Manila.

At the US embassy, they called for the expulsion of American troops from the Philippines and opposed a new push to build its bases in the name of EDCA. The rallyists called the US the "numero unong warmonger" (instigator of war) and looked back on the four wars that the US launched in Asia in the past and how it used the Philippines as a launching pad for these wars.

Southern Tagalog progressive groups held a protest in Kawit, Cavite where the Philippine flag was first raised in 1898. The police tried to stop them, and their program lasted only 15 minutes. Despite this, the groups asserted their right to free expression. The groups have drawn attention to the holding of war games in the region, such as the recently concluded Kasangga 2023, which are part of the preparations of the US and its allies for war.

In Davao, progressive groups launched an action at the city's Freedom Park.

CPP/NDF-Negros Island: Edralin whitewashing 303rd Brigade’s bloody record–NDF-Negros spox

Propaganda statement posted to the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) Philippine Revolution Web Central (PRWC) Website (Jun 14, 2023): Edralin whitewashing 303rd Brigade’s bloody record–NDF-Negros spox

Bayani Obrero
Spokesperson
NDF-Negros Island
National Democratic Front of the Philippines

June 14, 2023

National Democratic Front (NDF)-Negros lambasted 303rd Brigade Commander BGen. Orlando Edralin for whitewashing his troop’s bloody record in Negros Island.

Edralin earlier reported that from January up to May, 14 rebels, including top leaders, died in separate gun battles as shown by military records supposedly indicating that the New People’s Army (NPA) in Negros Island continues to weaken.

Ka Bayani Obrero, NDF-Negros spokesperson, remarked that the 303rd and 302nd Brigade have killed 13 farmers, five hors de combat and NDFP Consultant Rogelio Posadas from January to May this year.

Obrero further said that Lyngrace Marturillas, Denald Mialen and Renel de los Santos who were abducted with NDFP Consultant Rogelio Posadas are still in the hands of the 303rd Brigade.

“BGen. Edralin boasted of their successful neutralization of the NPA in Negros but the people only gained brutality from these words besides aggravating the people’s sufferings from poverty and lack of social services,” Obrero stated.

“It is a longstanding policy of the battalions under the 303rd Brigade, as well as those in the 302nd, to declare fake encounters when they salvage (summarily kill) those they suspect as members or supporters of the NPA,” Obrero added.

It is also their scheme to tag those they kill as NPA casualties despite the protest of the entire community, he said.

According to Obrero, this happened to several farmers such as Jose Gonzalez, Joemarie Calumba, Crispin Tingal Jr, Orlando Fat, Jose Albores and, most recently Gusting Mapos who were captured and killed in different occasions by soldiers from the 94th Infantry Battalion (94th IB), 62nd IB and 15th IB and then declared as NPA casualties in fake encounters.

In his statement, Obrero stated that the 62nd IB killed five farmers in separate incidents and declared them as NPA casualties in actual encounters last month in Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental and Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental; they were couple Juliven Ramirez and Evelyn Merez, Ruben Obidas, Antonio Babor and Jurielen Babor.

Meanwhile, Jonel Bayno and Rogelio Lacton were farmers captured by the 15th IB and were found dead in Barangay Camindangan, Sipalay City on May 25 and 27, respectively.
Red martyrs

Ka Bayani Obrero disclosed that the revolutionary movement in Negros gave tribute to eight Red fighters martyred in legitimate encounters: Rodolfo Leo John Azucena (Ka Jemon), Andre Cose (Ka Andre), Ricky Altariba (Ka Sardo) and Ka Jeloy on March 1 at Barangay Carabalan, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental; Ka Arnold on April 20 at Barangay La Libertad, Escalante City, Negros Occidental; and Julwar Loviano (Ka Ryan) on May 20 at Barangay Trinidad, Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental.

They also honored NDF Consultant Rogelio Posadas and five other Red fighters, however, contrary to 303rd Brigade claims, they were not killed in armed encounters; rather, they were captured and summarily executed.

Obreros said that based on the military’s policy of ‘taking no prisoners,’ Arjen Mahinay (Ka Nonong), who suffered a stroke, his medical aide Junjun Callet (Ka Ruben), and another Red fighter Henry Casido (Ka Nico) were killed in Barangay Oringao, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental last February 4 while bedridden Anthony Curson (Ka Miguel) was executed in a hut in Barangay Budlasan, Canlaon City, Negros Oriental on April 28.

He added that Alvin Bayno (Ka Dagger) who was wounded upon capture after the encounter was finished off by 62nd IB soldiers on May 20 in Barangay Quintin Remo, Moises Padilla.
Demand justice for all victims

Ka Bayani Obrero urged the people to broaden further the united front to demand justice for all victims of killings by butchers in the AFP/PNP/NTF-Elcac, as well as, expose and oppose intensifying militarization in their communities especially in the countryside.

“State forces must answer to the merciless human rights violations they committed,” he said.

On the other hand, Obrero claimed that ruthlessness and brutality particularly in relentless military operations incite a big number of people, especially among peasants, to partake in the national democratic revolution.

“The revolutionary resolve and determination of revolutionary forces on the island to play a part in advancing the armed struggle until national liberation and democracy is achieved strengthens,” he ended.

___
*Hors de combat killed by military under the Marcos II regime includes Mario Baldusa (Ka Jekoy) and Janhel Sarsa (Ka Jorge). The two were wounded upon capture but the 62nd IB nevertheless killed them last November 28, 2022 after an encounter at Sitio Binataan, Quintin Remo, Moises Padilla. They were not included in Ka Bayani Obrero’s earlier statement. This brings the count of summarily killed hors de combat in Negros Island under Marcos Jr from 10 to 12.

Propaganda statement posted to the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) Philippine Revolution Web Central (PRWC) Website (Jun 13, 2023): Dapat pamatud-an sang LGU Kabankalan ang ila sabat sa mga biktima sang HRVs (LGU Kabankalan must prove their commitment to the victims of HRVs)

June 13, 2023

Oringao kag Tan-awan sadtong Septyembre 2022.

2. Pagdakop kag pagpatay sanday NDFP Consultant Ericson Acosta kag lider mangunguma kag organisador nga si Joseph Jimenez sa Sityo Makilo, Brgy. Camansi sadtong Nobyembre 2022.

3. Pagpatay kay Joemari Calumba, sa Sityo Mugni, Brgy. Oringao sadtong Pebrero 4.

Desaparecidos man sila Sta. Ana Aures kag Iver Larit.

Ila man ini nga padugi nga tawagon nga kaswalidad sang NPA bisan ang bilog komunidad nagapanginwala sini. Amu ini ang natabo sang gindakop kag ginpatay sang 94th Infantry Battalion (94th IB) sanday Jose Gonzalez sang Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental, kag Joemarie Calumba kag Crispin Tingal Jr, mga tumandok sang Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental sadtong Enero 9, Pebrero 4 kag Mayo 3. Sila Orlando Fat nga tumandok sang Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental kag Jose Albores sang Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental ang gindakop kag ginpatay man sang 62nd IB sang Enero 10 kag Abril 18.

CPP/CIO: Danger of Sara Duterte’s militarist obsession

Propaganda statement posted to the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) Philippine Revolution Web Central (PRWC) Website (Jun 12, 2023): Danger of Sara Duterte’s militarist obsession

Sara Duterte and her narrow-minded mindset and obsession against all forms of democratic resistance is the number one danger to students and their teachers. She demands uncritical support for the military and its brutal war against those critical of the Marcos government and the ruling system. Anyone who refuses is labeled a communist or communist sympathizer.

She uses her position in the education department as platform to carry out the propaganda objectives of the military and the notorious National Task Force (NTF)-Elcac and its increasingly vicious war of suppression.

Since Marcos and Duterte assumed power in June 30, 2022, at least 97 people have been killed by the military and state armed agents. Among the victims are four children.

CPP: The Filipino people’s continuing struggle for genuine national freedom

Propaganda statement posted to the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) Philippine Revolution Web Central (PRWC) Website (Jun 12, 2023): The Filipino people’s continuing struggle for genuine national freedom

Communist Party of the Philippines

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) and all revolutionary forces join the Filipino people in marking today 125 years of false independence under US colonialism and neocolonial rule. Let us mark this day by looking back on the history of the Filipino people’s struggle for genuine freedom and democracy and reaffirm our commitment to persevere along this path in the future.

Riding on the victories of the armed revolution led by the Katipunan since 1896 and waged by the peasants and burgeoning working class against the 300-year Spanish colonial regime, the representatives of the illustrado landlord class led by Emilio Aguinaldo proclaimed Philippine independence on June 12, 1898 “under the protection of Powerful and Humanitarian Nation, the United States of America.”

Not soon after, the naval armed forces of Spain and the United States staged the mock battle at Manila Bay with a secret agreement to transfer colonial power to the latter while helping each other suppress and prevent the revolutionary forces from gaining advantage. The transfer of colonial rule would be formalized on December 10 that year, when the Treaty of Paris was signed in which the Philippines was sold by Spain for $20 million to the United States.

Hundreds of thousands of American troops were deployed to carry out the armed suppression and colonization of the Philippines. The US colonizers carried out a brutal war against Filipino revolutionary forces–denigrated as bandits–who persisted in armed resistance for more than a decade. At least 200,000 Filipino civilians were killed by US colonial forces, while more than a million (out of a population of less than seven million) died in the course of the war.

Employing its armed might, the US colonial forces rampaged throughout the country, plundered the country’s wealth, felling trees for lumber, and taking away vast tracks of land from peasants and indigenous peoples and turning them into commercial plantations for sugar, pineapple and other crops, as well as mines for export to the United States. It carried out a drive to colonize the Filipino people’s minds by establishing an educational system that sought to erase the country’s history and portrayed US colonialism as “benevolent assimilation.” The US pampered a breed of bureaucrat capitalists who were trained in “US democracy” who represented the interests of the US and the new class of big bourgeois compradors who melded interests with the old landlord class.

Instead of being suppressed, the Filipino people’s spirit of patriotism would be further inflamed as workers and toiling people organized and waged mass struggles over the next few decades demanding “death to US imperialism!” The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP-Philippine Islands) was established in 1930 and since then played a critical role in leading the struggle for national freedom from US colonial rule.

In the course of inter-imperialist conflict between the US allies and its rivals, the US military forces abandoned the Philippines when it was invaded by imperialist Japan. An anti-Japanese guerrilla war was waged by Filipino revolutionary forces led by the CPP-PI in pursuit of the people’s aspiration for national freedom. Across the Philippines, as in other countries, Japanese forces were defeated in guerrilla warfare. Anticipating the defeat of the Japanese, the US forces returned to the Philippines by dropping bombs in Manila causing unnecessary devastation and forcing the country to its knees. Together with its puppet forces, the US subsequently carried out a campaign of armed suppression against Filipino guerrilla forces.

To placate the Filipino people, the US granted nominal independence to the Philippines, turning over the reins of political administration of the client-state to the representatives of the ruling classes and their parties. For close to 80 years now, the country has been under neocolonial or semicolonial rule where the Philippines remains under US political, economic, military and cultural dominance.

Under US semicolonial rule, the Philippines has been robbed of trillions of dollars worth of natural resources in unequal trade and economic relations reinforced through treaties giving the US parity rights. Wages have been kept low to allow US corporations to make maximum profit. Economic policy of the Philippine government is shaped by US planners through the International Monetary Fund and World Bank and other US-controlled financial and economic institutions.

The US has maintained cultural dominance through control of the educational system, domination of the mass media and other agencies for propagating the American mindset and worldview.

The US has maintained armed dominance through military treaties foremost of which are the Mutual Defense Treaty and the now expired Military Bases Agreement, which has been replaced by such treaties as the Visiting Forces Agreement and the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA), to allow US military forces to remain in the country and use the Philippines as springboard for its wars of intervention and aggression. The Armed Forces of the Philippines, together with the entire defense establishment is the main pillar of US rule. From the very outset and to this day, the US employs and directs the AFP to carry out counterinsurgency against the revolutionary forces who continue to wage a people’s war and all forms of resistance for national and social liberation.

The past several decades of US-imposed neocolonial policies have ravaged the Philippine economy and caused widespread suffering of workers, peasants, other toiling sectors and middle classes. Large segments of local productive forces, including agricultural land and manufacturing capacity, have been destroyed by investment and import liberalization, deregulation and privatization. The ruling classes of big bourgeois compradors and big landlords, and foreign capitalists have enjoyed all-out freedom under the neoliberal policy regime to plunder and accumulate profit and wealth. The Filipino people are now experiencing the grave consequence of neoliberalism in the form of massive unemployment, dirt-cheap wages, loss of income, spiralling prices, rural dislocation, and environmental destruction. The country is in the grips of a financial crisis marked by rising public debt, loss of state revenue due corporate tax exemptions and holidays, and rising expenses for a bloated military and police force.

We are currently in the advent of a new phase in the history of the struggle against US imperialism, amid rising inter-imperialist conflicts and threats of open war, and the US push to reinforce its neocolonial stranglehold of the Philippines and its military, economic and political dominance in the Philippines in the context of its geopolitical aims and saber-rattling against China. The rush of the US to construct a number of military bases and facilities in various parts of the country under the EDCA, especially in the northern areas which are closest to Taiwan and China, has once again highlighted the country’s lack of sovereignty and underscores how it is being used by the US as a pawn in its game of strategy to protect and expand its areas of investment and influence in the Asia-Pacific region.

Amid deepening capitalist crisis, the US and other imperialist powers are increasingly resorting to wars and war preparations as means to jolt their economies and expand their markets, sources of raw materials and spheres of influence. As a consequence, semicolonial and semifeudal countries such as the Philippines are being subjected to worsening state of national oppression as the imperialist powers seek to consolidate their hegemony over countries and entire global regions. The absence of Philippine sovereignty is starker than ever before.

Since it was reestablished in 1968, the Communist Party of the Philippines has been at the forefront of the Filipino people’s struggle for genuine national freedom. The Party took up the cudgels left by the Katipunan, as well as by previous generations of revolutionary fighters. It has been waging a people’s war since 1969, and will continue to do so as long as it takes to free the country from the clutches of US imperialism.

Today let us set our sights on waging even greater resistance in order to free the country from the clutches of the US imperialist ogre, and attain the Filipino people’s aspirations for national freedom and democracy. Let us commit ourselves to the struggle, however difficult and arduous, as this is the only path towards a bright and prosperous future.

CPP/NDF-Negros Island: Activists and revolutionaries remain top targets of the AFP

Propaganda statement posted to the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) Philippine Revolution Web Central (PRWC) Website (Jun 12, 2023): Activists and revolutionaries remain top targets of the AFP

It is hardly unexpected that newly appointed Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro said that his agency will shift its focus from internal to external defense in reaction to Ferdinand Marcos Jr’s directive.

These pronouncements are nothing but a show of loyalty to US imperialism as the current Marcos regime drags the Filipino people into a war between two imperialist bullies whose interests are contrary to Philippine patrimony and economic sovereignty.

But the truth of the matter is, activists and revolutionaries remain the top targets of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

The Marcos II regime has been abducting people left and right since it fraudulently placed itself in power. At least 96 people, four of whom are minors, have been fallen victim to summary killings perpetrated by state forces. In Negros, 20 farmers, ten hors de combat and two National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) Consultants have been mercilessly killed under Marcos Jr’s reign. This clearly demonstrates that the AFP are fascist pigs who are fighting a dirty war in the expense of the masses.

Recycling Gibo Teodoro as Defense Secretary will only make matters worse. We can still vividly remember his bloody stint as Secretary of Defense under Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. He led the brutal Oplan Bantay Laya II where the likes of butcher general Jovito Palparan were rewarded for their campaigns of suppression against the people that grossly violated human rights and international humanitarian law. As Arroyo’s alter ego covered with the cloak of impunity, he implemented intense militarization and alarming cases of extrajudicial killings, abductions, and harassment of activists and revolutionaries.

His bloody record under the fascist Arroyo regime is indicative of what is to come under the current Marcos regime. It is not surprising that he kowtows to the whims and wishes of the puppet Marcos Jr and their imperialist master, the US. After all, he is known as “Amboy,” an American boy, with his devotion to the Visiting Forces Agreement and the US-RP Balikatan exercises. His aversion to the GRP-NDFP peace talks is consistent with his proven track record of tyranny.

In the time of fascists and tyrants, and on the 125th year under US neocolonialism, it becomes ever clearer and obvious that we as a people must continue to tread the path of resistance.

The AFP must be severely punished for their incessant red-tagging, human rights violations against activists, fascist attacks on the Filipino people, and utter disregard of international humanitarian law.###
