From the Visayan Daily Star (Sep 17, 2020): 302nd Infantry Brigade gets additional battalion
The operational control of the 94th Infantry Battalion in central Negros has been transferred to the 302nd Infantry Brigade, as part of the adjustments made by the 3rd Infantry Division in its internal security operations in Negros Island.
Maj. Cenon Pancito, 3ID Public Affairs Office chief, said yesterday that the 94IB areas of operation in central Negros remain the same, except for the transfer of its operational control from 303rd Infantry Brigade to 302nd Infantry Brigade.Under the new set-up, Pancito said that each Army battalion has been tasked to dismantle a guerilla front of the New People’s Army in their respective areas.
Aside from the 94IB, the 302nd Infantry Brigade headed by Brig. Gen. Noel Baluyan also supervises the 15th Infantry Battalion in southwest Negros, and 11th Infantry Battalion in southeast Negros.
On the other hand, the 79th Infantry Battalion in northern Negros and 62nd Infantry Battalion in central Negros are under the operational control of the 303rd Infantry Brigade headed by Col. Inocencio Pasaporte.
The area of 94IB also in central Negros has been designated as the focus area of the 302nd Infantry Brigade operations against the NPA, according to the statement it issued, following the recent visit of Brig. Gen. Baluyan to its headquarters in Brgy. Tambo, Ayungon, Negros Oriental.
The 94IB was recently beefed up with 54 new personnel by the 3ID.
