MANILA – Seven ranking police officials got new positions in the latest revamp in the Philippine National Police (PNP), which took effect Friday.

In an order signed by PNP chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil on Thursday, Police Regional Office (PRO) 11 (Davao) chief Brig. Gen. Aligre Martinez; Directorate for Operations (DO) chief Brig. Gen. Ronald Oliver Lee; and Col. Edwin Portento of the Intelligence Group were relieved of their posts and reassigned to the Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit of the Directorate for Personnel and Records Management.

Meanwhile, Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III from the PNP Communications and Electronics Service replaced Martinez as the new PRO-11 chief while Directorate for Plans (DPL) chief, Brig. Gen. Nicolas Salvador, was named the new DO head.

Brig. Gen. Lex Ephraim Gurat from the National Capital Region Police Office was designated as the new DPL chief.

Brig. Gen. John Chua from the Area Police Commander - Visayas was reassigned to the National Police Training Institute.

The latest revamp came in the wake of the June 10 simultaneous operations launched by the police to arrest Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy and five others for child and sexual abuse and human trafficking charges.

The police visited five properties belonging to Quiboloy – the KOJC compound in Barangay Buhangin, Davao City, the Prayer Mountain in Tamayong, the Glory Mountain in Purok 6, the QSands Baptismal Resort in Samal, and the Kitbog Compound in Malungon, Sarangani – but failed to find and arrest him.
