CAUAYAN, Negros Occidental – Hinoba-an Local Chief Executives declare the communist terrorist group persona-non-grata in support of the implementation of Executive Order no. 70 on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at People’s Pagbana-ag Activity Center, Hinoba-an, Negros Occidental.
The activity with the theme: Sa Pag-isa may Kabakod, sa pag Hugbong may Paglaum, Grupong Terrorista Sikwayon was facilitated by the 15th Infantry (Molave Warrior) Battalion through the support and collaboration of Hinoba-an Government headed by Mayor Ernesto Estrao; Ms. Maria Novie Mejica-Chairman of 5th and 6th District Cluster, DILG-NOC; National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA-6); Atty. June Ann Bernal, Assistant Provincial Prosecutor; and the Religious sectors.
A total of 280 individuals participated in the activity, composed of all Barangay Captains, Barangay Councils, SK chairmen, and former CNT supporters march for peace carrying placards and tarpaulins to condemn the violence and atrocities of the terrorist groups, especially in the upcoming NPA founding anniversary.
The program was highlighted by the peace parade, insurgency and Anti-terrorism law awareness, and Persona-Non Grata tarpaulin distribution to every barangay. These strengthen the understanding of the Anti-terror law of 2020 or RA 11479 and the campaign against insurgency.
The collaborative effort of this program was participated by various local, provincial, and regional government agencies.
All 13 barangays of Hinoba-an have passed a resolution to declare the Communist Terrorist Group members as Persona-non Grata in their respective areas. It signifies their commitment to prevent and remove the spear of CTG influence in their communities.
Ms. Maria Novie Mejica, Chairman of the 5th and 6th District Cluster of the Department of the Interior and Local Government reminded the Barangay Officials of their duties and responsibilities to ensure the realization and operationalization of the Barangay Task force to End the Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC).
Meanwhile, Lt. Col Erwin Cariño, Commanding Officer, 15IB, expressed his utmost gratitude to the Local Government of Hinoba-an for their continuous support to End this long decade of insurgency.
“Let’s unite and reject the presence of the terrorist in your community to protect your barangays and families. By moving and thinking as one, we could ensure the insulation of our resolve in totally denying the existence and menace brought by the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG).” Cariño said.
