From the Sun Star-Baguio: Cops get bounty for arrest of rebel’s son
Operatives from the Regional Police are set to receive a P3.2M-cash reward for arresting an alleged rebel leader and wanted person inside a mall in Baguio City Monday afternoon. Police Regional Office-Cordillera (Procor) Director Benjamin Magalong said their arrest of Grayson Naogsan is legitimate. A police statement recently claimed Naogsan as an alleged member of the Communist Party of the Philippines–New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) Ilocos-Cordillera Regional Command and the Kilusang Larangang Guerilya Maco ICRC and the East Chico Line Team of the communist rebels. Grayson, the son of Cordillera People’s Democratic Front spokesperson “Ka Filliw” Naogsan, is facing 10 counts of murder and one count of crime of rebellion, an updated report from Procor revealed.... Magalong said the monetary reward he carried out earlier amounting to P700,000 under JO Nr. 10-2009 dated April 23, 2009 was updated and the bounty was increased to P3.2 million under AFP and PNP Joint Resolution Number 72-2012 dated August 28, 2012. The arrested rebel leader was brought to the General Headquarters, of the Intelligence Group in Camp Crame, Quezon City for documentation prior to his turn-over to the court of origin.“We are proud of the accomplishments of our intelligence officers. Were confident that they will be able to sustain their passion and sincerity as well as dedication to the police service,” Magalong added.
