NPA camp seized in Negros Occidental

 From the Philippine Star (Jun 23, 2022): NPA camp seized in Negros Occidental (Gilbert Bayoran) 

Soldiers overran a camp of New People’s Army (NPA) rebels following an encounter in Sitio Tinibyangan, Barangay Minapasok in Calatrava, Negros Occidental yesterday.

Lt. Col. Jay-Jay Javines, 79th Infantry Battalion commander, said government troopers responded to reports from villagers on the presence of armed men in the area when the clash occurred.

There was no reported casualty on the side of the government.

Jayvines said the rebels are remnants of the NPA’s dismantled Northern Negros Front.
