The Armed Forces of the Philippines activated the Vice Presidential Security and Protection Group (VPSPG), a dedicated unit ensuring the safety and security of the second-highest official and her family.
AFP Chief of Staff Andres C Centino led the activation ceremony on Friday, June 24, at the general headquarters with other top-ranking officers. Centino, likewise, installed Lt. Col. Rene J. Giroy as the first group commander of VPSPG.
