CAMP EVANGELISTA, PATAG, CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Close to 2,000 families from two hinterland barangays in the city benefited from an outreach program held at Barangay Tignapoloan covered court, Cagayan de Oro City, today, January 23, 2021.

The activity was a convergence effort of the 4th Infantry “Diamond” Division, Philippine Army and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). This, as part of the division’s upcoming celebration of its 51st founding anniversary on February 1.

Food packs and clothing were distributed to more than 1,300 households in Barangay Tignapoloan, while another 300 families in Barangay Besigan also received the same package.

Barangay Tignapoloan Chairwoman Nancy Aban expressed her gratitude towards the 4ID and DSWD as the gifts are already of great help to the people who are much affected by the pandemic brought by the coronavirus disease.

Major General Andres Centino, 4ID commander, said that the outreach program was a way of giving back to the people for their support to the division over the years.

It can be recalled that Barangay Tignapoloan was a pilot barangay where the Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict in the city was launched last year.

He further encouraged the people to continue supporting the programs and projects of the government and withdraw their support to Communist Terrorist Groups (CTGs) through not giving in to extortion activities and stop the insurgency problem of the country.

Moreover, before the outreach program, a tree planting activity was also held which was participated in by the Diamond troopers, PNP personnel and barangay officials and staff.
