Asuncion, Davao del Norte — The peace & development campaign for 2021 of the province of Davao del Norte in partnership with the Philippine Army kicks-off thru a Joint Inauguration of the first Half-Way House named as BALAY PANAGHIUSA for Former Rebels and Opening of 3rd Batch of De-Radicalization Program in Davao del Norte inside the Headquarters, 60th Infantry Battalion, Camp Morgia, Asuncion, Davao del Norte this Monday, January 11, 2021.

The Provincial Governor, “Kuya Gov” Edwin Jubahib personally graced the program together with MGEN Reuben S Basiao, Commander 10ID, along with Brigade Commanders of 1001st and 1003rd Brigade, BGEN Luis Rex Bergante and BGEN Nolasco M Mempin, respectively.

The newly built facilities was funded through the ECLIP Assistance Project of DILG and Task Force Balik Loob as support to the National Program on EO70- Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC), a 5 million pesos worth project. On the other hand, the provincial government of Davao del Norte also counterparts 2-million pesos to fully realize the project, Governor Jubahib said.

The facility is equipped with basic amenities such as multipurpose hall as activity/lecture area, dining and kitchen area, shower, laundry area and bedrooms for single and couple participants. Admin Office for PSWDO staff as house parents is also co-located in the area.

Moreover, the 1001st Brigade’s 10-day De-Radicalization Program for Former Rebels now on its 3rd batch will also commence with 16 participants coming from Davao del Norte, Davao de Oro and Agusan del Sur whose NPA units previously operates in the province.

Dino Kairo Bazar alyas Den-den, Front Secretary of WGF 33 whose entire front surrendered to 25IB and 60IB bringing along all their high powered firearms last December 2020 is among the participants of the said program.
