A former New People’s Army (NPA) rebel was shot dead by still unidentified gunmen at his house on Tuesday night in Sorsogon City, a police report said Wednesday.
Killed was Alejandro Dulpina Claveria, 49, married, a laborer from Barangay San Jose Maricrum, Bacon District, said Maj. Maria Luisa Calubaquib, spokesperson of the Police Regional Office-5.
“The attack took place at around 11:45 p.m. when two still unidentified armed men called the victim while he and members of his family were watching television at their residence,” she said.
As the victim went out of the house to see who the caller was, the suspects fired several shots at him which resulted in his instantaneous death.
Police are still determining the identities of the suspects and whether the case was related to his previous connection with the communist movement.
