From MindaNews (Nov 16): Ustadz, wife survives ambush in Maguindanao, but son didn’t
DATU ODIN SINSUAT, Maguindanao – A family of a Maguindanao cleric was waylaid early Friday wherein the ustadz’s son died.
Senior Supt. Madzagani Mukaram, Maguindanao police director, identified the slain victim as Samen Panday, 34, married.
Ustadz Musa Panday, 55, and his wife Susana, 44, were rushed to Cotabato City Hospital after sustaining bullet wounds.
The ambush took place around 6:45 a.m. in Barangay Badak in this town when the Panday family was about to visit the city proper from their village of Kalanganan onboard a red Multicab.
Slugs of caliber .45 pistols were recovered from the ambush site.
The still unidentified assailants reportedly left the area immediately.
Police has yet to determine the motive of the crime and identities of the suspects.
They are still gathering more information from the survivors as of press time.
