From Update.Ph (Mar 25): PH expressed interest to purchase Russian choppers, fast boats, drones – official
The Philippines has expressed intent to purchase Russian helicopters, fast boats, drones and small weapons, Russia’s Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC) deputy director Mikhail Petukhov told Sputnik news agency on Wednesday at the sidelines of Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition LIMA-2017 in Malaysia.
Sputnik news agency is owned by Rossiya Segodnya a news agency wholly owned and operated by the Russian government.
“The partners express interest to the Russian military equipment, including helicopter equipment, fast boats, unmanned aircraft and small weapons,” Petukhov said.
“However we have not received an official request for the defense products supplies from the customer yet,” Petukhov he added.
President Rodrigo Duterte is set to visit Russia in May. Duterte and Russia President Putin are set to witness signing of different agreements which may include Agreement on Defense Cooperation.
