MANILA (DWDD) – Joint AFP-PNP Elements arrested a ranking New People’s Army (NPA) leader at Purok Sta. Cruz, Poblacion Lupon, Davao Oriental at 5:00 o’clock on Monday afternoon, March 14.
Allan Montecalvo a.k.a. Em-Em, who is reportedly the new Secretary of Guerilla Front (GF) 2 of the NPA’s Southern Mindanao Regional Committee (SMRC) after replacing Ariel M. Arbitrario a.k.a. Marlon who was apprehended on February 16, 2016, was arrested by elements of the 701st Brigade, 28th IB, units under the 10th ID (1001Bde; 10th MIB, and 71IB) of the Philippine Army, ISAFP, CIDG-Davao Oriental, PIB-DOPPO, DOPPO-PPSC, PIT-DOR, RIU11, and Lupon MPS.
Montecalvo was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest for violation of Section 3 of Presidential Decree 1866 or the crime of unlawful manufacture, sales, acquisition, disposition or possession of explosives, as amended by Section 1 of RA 9516 issued by Presiding Judge Virginia D. Tehano-Ang of Regional Trial Court Branch 3. He is now under the custody of the Lupon Municipal Police. Josephine Jaron Codilla / MCAG
