One hundred Philippine Army (PA) personnel will participate
in the “Alay-Lakad 2015” which will take place in Manila on Sunday morning.
Alay-Lakad Foundation Inc. will spearhead the said activity
carrying the theme “Alay Lakad para sa Magandang Kinabukasan” and aimung to
raise funds for the less-privileged Filipino youth.
PA commander Lt. Gen. Eduardo M. Año will lead the Army
contingent in this year’s walk-for-a-cause.
The “Alay-Lakad 2015″ will cover a 1.8-kilometer route from
the Cultural Center
of the Philippines complex
in Pasay City to the Quirino Grandstand in
Luneta.
The Army’s participation in this annual event is part of its
multisectoral approach and inter-agency collaboration that support the
endeavors of other government agencies, civic and non-government organizations
in their respective peace and development programs.
The "Alay-Lakad 2015" is chaired by the Big Four
civic clubs which are known for their outstanding activities in community
services nationwide -- Rotary International, Kiwanis International, Junior
Chamber International Philippines, and Lions Club International.
