A Philippine Coast Guard man did not reach the hospital
alive after he was gunned down by A Philippine Army soldier whose group was
drinking inside the Paraiso Disco House in Barangay Sta. Remedios, Bulan,
Sorsogon, early Monday morning.
SN2 Vlademer Eduarte did not reach the Dr. Fernando B.Duran
Sr. Memorial Hospital. Eduarte, 28 and married, was assigned in Ormoc City
and a resident of Zone 2, Bulan, Sorsogon.
An initial police report said the incident happened at about
2:00 a.m. while Eduarte and his two friends were lively engaged in drinking
inside the disco house when another group at the other table appeared
irritated.
Eduarte noticed this and confronted one group member until
the confrontation resulted in serious arguments that led to a rumble.
A shot was heard at the height of the fight and a bullet hit
Eduarte on his chest.
His companion immediately brought him to the hospital but he
died on the way.
Members of the Bulan Municipal Police Office immediately
responded and found out that the men Eduarte got in trouble with are members of
the Philippine Army who were also drinking in the same establishment.
Police could not yet determine whether the soldiers are
assigned with the detachment in the town or the guns have the necessary papers.
