Officials of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), together with the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace Process (OPAPP) distributed livelihood assistance packages in the region, including those who are active members of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF).
Beneficiaries from eight MNLF Communities were among the recipients from provinces comprising ARMM.
Farm inputs, along with solar electricity generation panels and accessories, hand tractors, floating tillers, and garden tools were among the items included in the assistance packages, according to Engr. Dong K. Anayatin, Assistant Regional Secretary and concurrent Program Manager of PAMANA Management Office.
Anayatin said that, previous to the distribution of the livelihood assistance packages, construction of farm-to-market roads were undertaken for MNLF communities in ARMM.
ARMM Executive Secretary Laisa Alamia extended praise to the MNLF communities and said that ARMM would not have been established if not for the MNLF.
Elsewhere, in other places in Mindanao where there are elements of the MNLF, local leaders were also said to be echoing praise for the heroism displayed by MNLF fighters who figured in the Zamboanga City stand-off, according to Hadji Murad Dicay, Brigade Commander of the so-called Unified Command in Maguindanao.
MNLF founding chairman Nur Misuari is expected to take part in a major symbolic ceremony at Mt. Summit, Kumander Dicay said.
